Wang Xiaomao was born in 1978 and began studying the violin at the age of four with his father. At nine, he attended the elementary school of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, going on to study at the conservatory with Zhang Shixiang. In 1997 he entered the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing, and studied under Huang Xiaozhi, Wang Zhenshan, and Lin Chaoyang. After completing his studies at the Central Conservatory of Music, he pursued higher study at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg in Breisgau with Rainer Kussmaul, the first concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2005 he became the concertmaster of the Theater Freiburg, where he performed regularly as a solo violinist. He returned to China in 2010, becoming the concertmaster of the National Centre for the Performing Arts and a guest lecturer at the China Conservatory of Music. He is currently concertmaster for the National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra.
Li Xiang is an active concert pianist and associate professor at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Along with her busy teaching schedule, Li remains committed to chamber music, giving multiple performances each year at Beijing’s most prestigious concert halls and foreign embassy gatherings. Li's playing style is natural, elegant, and richly textured. Her repertoire appeals to classical music lovers of all ages and nationalities.
