As the exhibition "The Rearview Landscape, or a Trip of Ownership" comes to an end, UCCA Dune will present a new performance artwork, "Im Abendrot(2022), by artist Xiaoshi Vivian Vivian Qin. Qin 's performance explores how to resist amnesia between climate, disaster, collective neglect and forgetting. Machines, like all sea-watchers of the past and present, famous or ordinary, depict the sunrise facing the waste plasterboard at sunset. This observer leaves a temporary footnote to the eternal landscape. The dancers move to the sheng and mechanical sounds of the works of the composer Satoru Shimizu, using glowing clay to create traces, just as humans who left petroglyphs in Argentine hand caves many years ago did, and erased the traces. They make and destroy tools out of glowing clay, just as creatures first made tools for survival years ago.
