About This Program

UCCA exhibiting artist Taryn Simon uses photographs to depict different stories and family histories.Behind her photos lie years of research, in which the artist scoured the globe interviewing her subjects.

In this activity, part of UCCA’s “Artist-led Exhibition Tour” series, art educators Zhang Qin and Kang Kang will tell kids about the many different stories behind Taryn Simon’s works.

Kids will then learn how to combine narrative and art by conducting their own interview and photography sessions.
