In the process of human development from ancient to modern civilization, different forms of living space are associated with different eras. With the advent of the 21st century, the accelerated development of science and technology challenges and affects people's understanding of living space and increases the possibility of granting people an unrestrained living space. The talks bring together Wang Yun, Dean of the Graduate School of ADA, Director of the Institute of Modern Architecture, and Yutaka SATA Vice President of Toshiba China, to introduce their professional fields, and discuss future forms of living space.

Wang Yun
Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Architecture at the Beijing Institute of Architectural Engineering. Received a Ph.D. from Tokyo University in 1999.Taught at Peking University since 2001. Founded the Atelier Fronti (www.fronti.cn) in 2002.Established and served as director of Architecture Design Art Research Center of Beijing University of Engineering and Architecture in 2013.
Awards: Received the first prize in the “New Architecture” category at Japan’s 4th SxL International Architectural Design Competition in 1994
Exhibitions:Pavilion of China The 13th international Architecture Exhibition la Biennale di Venezia in 2012.

Yutaka SATA (Vice President of TOSHBA China)
In 2011, Kenya Hara of Hara Design Institute launched the project “House Vision.” Its mission is to build homes with a “new common sense,” instigating a series of discussions with renowned Japanese architects and firms on “future residences.”
In 2013, five Chinese architects, Yung Ho Chang, Wang Yun, Wang Hui, Zhou Yanmin, and Liang Jingyu, launched a non-governmental academic research team. Its purpose is to break Chinese residential design out of its market-oriented development and explore new experimental models to incorporate into the real estate industry. Each member of the research team works within a different field, including architecture, transportation vehicles, appliances, and furniture.
