ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

Dear Ay, daddy misses you sooo much (1969~1972) is a selection of illustrated letters written by cartoonist Ding Wu and sent to his daughter during the period in which he was in the countryside for reeducation during the Cultural Revolution. Editor Wang Jiaming selected about 60 letters from a collection of over 200, and with the help of designer Liu Zhichang has created a book that is a testament to the unbending power of the human spirit. In this talk, Chief Editor at DUKU, Zhang Lixian will join with Wang Jiaming and Liu Zhichang to talk about the book, its creation, and all the many questions that this kind of work raises.
