Maintaining China’s leading program of limited edition artworks, UCCA Store first attended Art Toronto in 2012. Its exhibition commanded significant attention in the Focus ASIA section, offering a varied selection for international collectors and art experts interested in Chinese contemporary art. This year, UCCA Store will continue to exhibit Chinese contemporary masterworks with both long-term collection value and aesthetic merit, including limited editions from Bu Hua, Chi Ming, Fang Lijun, Ju Ting, Liu Ye, Qin Qi, Qu Gaungci, Wang Guangyi, Wu Junyong, Xiang Jing, Xu Hongxiang, Yu Fan, Yu Hong, Yue Minjun, Zhou Nan, and Zhang Xiaogang.
Among them, Liu Ye’s Composition with Red, Yellow, Blue and Yu Hong’s As the Days Go by are two especially rare works. The silkscreen print Composition with Red, Yellow, Blue is representative of Liu Ye’s distinctive style and personal language, Its pure treatment of form, lively use of color, and ornamental aesthetic indicate the artist’s spiritual connection with Mondrian. The digitally airbrushed and hand-painted As the Days Go by series is a new project, the culmination of over half a year of collaboration between Yu Hong and UCCA Store. Printed on aluminum foil, the series debuted at the 2013 Armory Show in March. Only fifteen editions of the series were printed.
