Sri Lanka has always been a favorite destination for international travelers. When Lonely Planet made their Best in Travel lists in late 2012, Sri Lanka topped list of countries to see in 2013. Sri Lanka has a special resonance with many Chinese travelers—besides its world heritage sites and stunning religious architecture, the country also has countless connections to Chinese culture.
In recent years, Chinese tourists have begun to take interest in Sri Lanka, causing a tourism boom on the island. However, many Chinese travelers still do not know much about the country.
Riding this tourism wave, Traveler sent a group of journalists to Sri Lanka to experience the country for themselves. In this edition of the UCCA Travel Series, our guest speakers will take you to Sri Lanka—the pearl of the Indian Ocean.
