ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

Liu Xiao is a senior outdoor photographer and will be sharing his experience of solo biking around Taiwan in 2012. To him, Taiwan is an interesting multi-cultural city . Liu biked around Taiwan under the scorching, in cold wind, and through storms. It is said that when bikers reach the speed of 20 km/h, the scenery become exceptionally beautiful…from the deep green of valleys, to the azure blue of the Pacific Ocean, soft southern Fujian dialect, authentic braised pork with rice, and honest and timeless folk culture all leave a deep impression on the bikers. For Liu Xiao, it it is a long journey that lingers in his memory and a spiritual journey of exploring Taiwan by bicycle.

There is a line from a Taiwan film entitled Island Etude directed by Chen Huai’en where it says “there are some things if you don’t do now, perhaps you will never get the chance to do them” It was for this that Li Xiao set out on his journey.

We may enjoy an opportunity to satisfy our curiosity about Taiwan and admire breathtaking night scenery in Taipei, drive along Suhua Highway, gaze at the glorious sunlight flooding Taitung Coast, and tour rainy Kenting and chat with other tourists whilst viewing artworks by Liu Xiao.
