Most of us have been seeing the Middle East through news reports of the wars and political revolutions. But how about the people and life there?

“Hanging Garden in Ink”, the new exhibition at the UCCA, draws us to the ancient civilization of Babylon. In this travel series on May 27th, let’s sit down have a chat about the journey in the Middle East, about the ordinary people there who are living outside of the TV screen and on the white edges of the newspaper reports,. They are bakers, shop keepers 、、waiters in hotels、nomads、cooks、farmers、fashion models、artists、policemen、and gangsters… …

ABOUT OUR GUEST

Guest: Zhu Yinghao (photographer, travel writer)

Zhu Yinghao, majored in Arabic language in university, and once worked in the field of public relations and media, now a freelance photographer and travel writer. In 2008, he backpacked through eight countries in the Middle East for half a year. He enjoys “being lost”, and considers the happiest feeling to be at the beginning of a journey, with the destinations yetunknown.
