With the Chinese New Year just around the bend, we wonder why our teacher Ji chao always refers to the Chinese New Year the first day of the year “Zheng Dan”? Why is that that our ancestors would have never used the name "Spring Festival"?
What is the difference between Nongli (the agricultural calendar) and Yinli (the lunar calendar)? Is Xiali a calendar for summer? Where does the tradition of eating dumpling and rice puddings come from? Ji chao will share the answers to all these questions with the children whilst sharing dumplings.
In the “Touching China” series, the teacher will introduce children to traditional Chinese culture by playfully practicing poems and customs, highlighting the details of traditional culture, in order to feel the artistry in life.
