How did ancient children speak? How did they recite poems? Was it by reading? Singing? Moaning or chanting? What sounds did they make? Why would it be as difficult for us to understand an ancient person speaking as it is to understand someone speakinga foreign language? And what was that “gulu gulu” sound they made? "Yin-song" is the traditiona; chanting method that has been used to recite Han poems in East Asia for 2000 years.. The method has been passed down from generation to generation, and its cultural value is huge. In this week's activity, Ji Chao will give a concise introduction to traditional chanting and the ancient pronunciation of the Han language.

In the UCCA Touching China series, the teacher will be introducing children to traditional Chinese culture through the exploration of poems and ancient festival customs, allowing them to deepen their understanding and also appreciate the art of life.
