UCCA Beijing

UCCA TOUCHING ART HISTORY SERIES: MESOPOTAMIAN SEALS

2013.5.18
10:00 - 11:30

Location:  UCCA Salon
Language:  In Chinese Only

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

6000 years ago, the Mesopotamians, a civilization based in the region now known as the Middle East, developed a special printing system. Cylinder seals, typically about one inch in length, were engraved with written characters or figurative scenes or both. These seals were then used to roll impressions onto a two-dimensional surface, generally wet clay. In this workshop, children will have the chance to make their own seals from recycled materials.
