Smog dyes the sky of Beijing gray, but every child hopes their hometown will be colorful and full of flowers. In this special event for Earth Day, UCCA will show children how to decorate our beautiful home. We have invited Xiang Jing from Poplar Kid’s Republic as our special guest. She will bring the great book, Planting the Trees of Kenya—The Story of Wangari Maathai to us. Claire A. Nivola, using lightened watercolor paintings and poetic illustrations, tells the extraordinary story of how the first African winner of the Nobel Peace Prize changed her hometown’s fate.
