ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

Tino Sehgal'swork immerses the participant in an interactive dance environment, forming a “constructed situation” out of song and dance. For this activity, professional dancer Wang Yanan will teach kids how to use movement to mimicrhythm and melody through dance. Through different dance and rhythm games, children will learn how to make their own constructed situationsusing everyday household objects.

The UCCA Children’s Artist Workshop provides an opportunity for families to learn about contemporary art and for children to develop their artistic talents in the company of leading artists. Children’s workshops are organized in conjunction with UCCA exhibitions.

ABOUT OUR GUEST

Wang Yanan, a graduate of the Beijing Dance Academy, was the principle dancerof the China Song and Dance Ensemble. She established her own studio in 2004. She has been working for the Paper Tiger Drama Studio since 2001 as a dancer and choreographer.
