In partnership with the Embassy of Canada in China, UCCA presents a series of four Canadian films exploring LGBTQ themes, screening a different film every three months. The first film, Fire Song, will be shown on June 24 at UCCA. Written and directed by Adam Garnet Jones and released in 2015, this Canadian drama premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival and was screened at the closing night gala of the 2015 ImagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, where it won the Air Canada Audience Choice Award. Fire Song also received the audience choice award for Best Narrative Feature at the ReelOut Film Festival, where it was featured in the 2016 opening gala, and was named both Best Film and Best Canadian Film at the Queer North Film Festival in 2016.
