The Well Fair: On Digitizing Contemporary Art

Elmgreen & Dragset's first exhibition in Asia to date "The Well Fair" transforms UCCA’s Great Hall into a fictional art fair by dividing the museum's signature space into multiple rows of rectangular booths. By constructing an art fair inside a museum, Elmgreen & Dragset investigate the desires that lie beneath the global urge to consume contemporary art and the spatial settings that define the art market. As a collateral event for the exhibition, UCCA invites director of Hosane Auction Co. LTD. Zhao Yong, director of ArtJeff Wechat Auction Hu Hu, director of Yidian China Qiu Tong, artist Miao Ying and director of artpollo.com Hao You to discuss the digitization of contemporary art.

Zhao Yong (Director, Hosane auction co. LTD)
Head of Zhao Group, Zhao Yang started his business in Germany in 1985. Zhao has founded Zhaoonline.com, Hosane Auction, Yuantai Grading, ZBD8 P2P platform, and Zhao.com.
Hu Hu (Director, ArtJeff Wechat Auction)
Majoring in science before switching to art for a Master's, Hu Hu (b. 1985) is a science fiction fan and has worked as an art magazine chief editor and auctioneer since 2008. In February 2014, Hu Hu founded ArtJeff Wechat Auction. He is also the producer of ArtJeff News.
Qiu Tong (Director, Yidian China)
Miao Ying (Artist)
is an internet artist who currently resides on The Internet, the Chinese Internet (the Great Fire Wall), and her smartphone. She received her BFA from the new media department China Central Academy for Fine Arts, and her MFA from the School of Art and Design, NYSCC, Alfred University, New York with a focus in Electronic Integrated Arts.
