LEAP magazine, in collaboration with the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, proudly presents “The Future Told” Lecture Series: Singularity and the Future of Intelligence.
In this lecture, computer scientist, social media researcher, and philosopher Isaac Mao starts from the technological singularity to consider the future in its sociological meaning, the future of intelligence, and the ultimate future of the universe as a whole.
The technological singularity is the moment when the capabilities of man-made technology reach and exceed human capacity to understand them. When this happens, will humanity be able to maintain its dominance over the world?
Isaac Mao is a computer scientist, social media researcher, and philosopher credited with coining the term “Sharism.” He is also a tech entrepreneur and advisor to several international projects, including Global Voices Online, Meedan, Great Fire, and others. Isaac Mao was featured as a key figure in the Institute for the Future’s “2006-2016, Map of the Decade.”
