Marek Pasieczny (Classical guitarist, composer)

Award-winning guitarist and composer Dr. Marek Pasieczny (b. 1980) is one of the most influential and respected contemporary composers writing for the guitar worldwide. As a composer, guitarist, lecturer, and adjudicator, he has appeared regularly at festivals in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Dr. Pasieczny has composed for and collaborated with such musicians as Pat Metheny, Odair and Clarice Assad, David Russell, Roland Dyens, Carlo Domeniconi, Ana Vidovic, Pavel Steidl, Edoardo Catemario, Gabriel Bianco, Krzysztof Pelech, Duo Melis, and many others.

Dr. Pasieczny holds three master’s degrees in music from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow (for composition and performance with distinction) and the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, Poland (for performance with distinction). He completed his PhD at Surrey University in December 2015.
