Selkirk, the Real Robinson Crusoe
2013, Walter Tournier, 75 minutes, French with Chinese subtitles
Selkirk, the Real Robinson Crusoe is a stop motion film portraying the misadventures of Selkirk, a young sailor whose selfishness gets him marooned on a deserted island. With no enemy ships to be found, Selkirk and his fellow privateers pass the time by gambling. Before long, the protagonist has squandered his savings and alienated the crew. He ultimately offends Captain Bullock, who decides to leave him on an uninhabited island.
There, Selkirk must abandon his desire for revenge or else fall victim to the elements.
