Location:  Workshop

The third stop of Peter Handke’s trip to China will bring him to Beijing in late autumn, where many readers, theatre lovers, and art film enthusiasts are eagerly waiting. They know him from his writings, from his avant-garde plays, from his film collaborations with Wim Wenders. For this special event, UCCA welcomes him to discuss his observations, thoughts, and feelings behind his fierce works.

"Things will go on, just like this, ceaselessly continue." —Peter Handke

We are living in a world with unprecedented convenience. The transportation within space, and the transmission of information, everything is becoming faster and faster. However, our thoughts, even the human relations between one another, are becoming more and more transient. Life is showing signs of constant breaking down, slow disordering and gradual falling apart. Like a machine that is in motion forever, what indeed drives it to move forward? Is it our hope, or our despair? Or would it just be the internal angst running through our hearts?
