UCCA is proud to present the public program series of “ON | OFF: China’s Young Artists in Concept and Practice”, consisting of “Self-made, Self-said” and “Ways and Means.”

In “Self-made, Self-said”, the curators invite founders and key members of various art groups, organizations, and projects to join them in discussions concerning “Self-made” practice and structure.

This forum invites founder members of three alternative project spaces, Organhaus Art Space, am art space, and Gland.

ARTISTS GROUP INTRODUCTION

Organhaus Art Space was founded in 2007 in Chongqing. It is an independent space run by curators and artists, providing a platform for young artist’s experimental practice and exchange programs.

am art space was founded in 2008 in Shanghai. The space stages exhibitions, academic talks, and performances.

Gland is an artist space founded by Guo Hongwei in 2011. The project are made of the “grand” of artists’ thought, trying to bring closer the ideals and the reality.
