ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

UCCA Art Cinema brings back the most celebrated shorts and features from NORDOX Nordic Documentary Film Festival 2012, scrutinizing once again the concerns and issues in our daily lives and across the globe.

The rewind starts with looking at the living condition of human beings in the technology cradle, as well as the threat of nuclear pollution. The filmmakers captured the moment when an Icelandic comedian turned into a politician, the intense situations of cross-cultural dialogue against the backdrop of war and foreign occupation in Afghanistan, the flight of a kidnapped South Korean actress from North Korea, and the story of how three young Swedish entrepreneurs managed to sneak through the backdoor of North Korea in an attempt to produce jeans in the country. The films investigate some of the most pressing and personal global issues through an array of Nordic voices.
