The recently-concluded United Nations Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa (28 November to 9 December 2011) left a lot of unanswered questions for the public and public policy makers alike. For example, can the earth’s climate still be salvaged, or is it too little, too late? What are the global ecological effects of an increase of 2 degrees in the earth’s temperature? What about 3 degrees, or even 4? What are the pros and cons of the United Nations as a platform for climate change negotiations? What does climate change mean for developed and developing nations? Which nations and organizations are paying the most attention to the issue of climate change? How can the public help bring about positive change and environmental progress?
