This multi-disciplinary panel discussion brings together two artists and two writers to discuss the state of poetry today. New media artists Lin Ke (Ake) and Ju Anqi along with writers Amingzai and newly appointed Chief Editor of Artnet News China Penny Liu lead an open discussion on a variety of topics, beginning with introduction to Lin Ke’s latest works.

Lin Ke
Born in 1984 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, Lin Ke graduated from the new media college of the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou and started Double Fly, an artist collective, together with Zhang Lehua and Li Ming. He lives and works in Beijing.
Amingzai
Born to the name Chen Xiaoming in 1982, Amginzai graduated from fine art collage in Fujian Normal University. His fiction and illustrated books were published as early as 2005. His recent publications include Spark, So Young, and Looking for an elephant – Silent Forest.
Ju Anqi
Artist and filmmaker Ju Anqi is a graduate of Beijing Film Academy. His experimental films have been exhibited in the Centre Pompidou (Paris) and MoMA (New York). Ju Anqi’s recent film Poet on a Business Trip premiered at the 44th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
Penny Liu
Born in Taipei, Penny Liu acquired her MA degree in Art History and Theory at Peking University and is one of the founding members of Harper’s Bazaar Art China.
Chao Jiaxing
Chao Jiaxing (b. 1984, Shanghai) received an MA in literature from Shanghai University. She has the curator and managing director for V ART CENTER, Shanghai, since 2011, and curated around forty projects for the art center. Her writings can be found in Artforum, Numero, Randian, LEAP, and Art China.
New Century Art Foundation (NCAF)
Founded by art collector Mr. Wang Bing in early 2014, New Century Art Foundation (NCAF) aims to study and promote Chinese contemporary art. In addition to the existing art system, NCAF will do supportive and supplementary work for the development of Chinese contemporary art. Through observation, research, and cooperation with good art institutions, NCAF will provide multiple platforms to promote young artists’ creations.
