In recent years, Brazil’s domestic arts institution shave grown at an outstanding pace. Contemporary art in particular has played a key role in the development of Brazil's cultural sector.
For the last 3 years, Currents– Art and Music has invited contemporary artists and musicians of international repute to Beijing for its residency program. This year, Currents has invited eight artists from Brazil to participate in the program and create works for the first exhibition of Brazilian contemporary art in Beijing.
On September 7th, Brazil’s Independence Day, two of the eight invited artists will give a presentation on their practice in the context of contemporary Brazilian culture.
