Born Again by artist Li Ran comes from the 2013 UCCA exhibition “ON | OFF: China’s Young Artists in Concept and Practice.” The exhibition marked the most comprehensive survey to date of the generation of artists born in the wake of the Cultural Revolution and at the dawn of China’s era of opening and reform.
About the Artist
Li Ran (b. 1986, Hubei province) graduated from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2009. Today he lives and works in Beijing. In 2014 he won the Best Artist award at the 4th Moscow International Biennale for Young Art.
