Completed in 2013, Second-Hand Reading conveys Kentridge's philosophical musings using flipbook animation—contrasting with the artist's previous animation technique of drawing and redrawing motion on the same page. In this workshop, UCCA invites artist Chai Mi to teach participants the basic techniques of flip-book animation using charcoal, India ink, and colored pencil on second-hand books.
