Design Narrative

2014.5.24
13:00-16:00

Workshops
Location:  UCCA Salon
Language:  In English only

Melbourne-based Broached Commissions takes a unique approach to contemporary design: the collective undertakes extensive curatorial research into the site-specific histories and material cultures underpinning different design forms. They engage local and international designers to create works inspired by these narratives of design, investigating the needs and desires that gave rise to certain forms and exploring what happens when those forms migrate across borders.

In this workshop, organized in conjunction with the exhibition “Broached Retreat,” Broached Commissions Creative Director Lou Weis and Founding Designer Trent Jansen will explain how Broached explores narrative in their design practice. They will also lead participants in a narrative development exercise.
