Continuing until the end of May, “The Chinese Photobook” includes rare photobooks made abroad and domestically. Through the pictures we can see the contradictions, changes, developments, and innovations in the history of modern China.

For this event, UCCA is honored to invite Ren Hang (Artist), No.223 (Artist), and Yan You (Independent Publisher) to discuss with UCCA Deputy Director You Yang the influential projects undertaken by young photographers and independent publishers.

Speakers

Ren Hang
(b. 1987, Changchun) is a Beijing based photographer. His solo exhibitions include ”In Presence of REN HANG” (Stieglitz 19 Gallery, Antwerp, 2015) and

“野生” (Ostlicht Gallery, Vienna, 2015).

Lin Zhipeng (born in Guangdong) graduated from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, majoring in Financial English. Lin is a photographer and freelance writer based in Beijing. He launched a blog entitled North Latitude 23, which currently has millions of views. He has produced photo shoots for magazines such as Vice, S magazine, VISION, iLOOK, City Pictorial, and several others.

Yan You

Is an independent Publisher and founder of Jiazazhi magazine.
