Salon 4: Chinese Opera for Kids
Chinese opera performances are a popular Chinese New Year/Spring Festival tradition. But is it a tradition that appeals mostly to older people like your grandparents, or is it something kids can enjoy, too? In this fun and informative salon, teacher Ji Chao from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts presents an introduction to Chinese operatic music, dance and costumes – and their appearance in famous books and works of literature – for the younger set.
