Galleria Continua
Placing its first venue in a former cinema, Galleria Continua established itself and thrived in an entirely unexpected location, away from cities and modern urban hubs, in the timeless town of San Gimignano, steeped in history. Keeping up with the constantly evolving nature of the gallery and the desire to address as wide a public as possible, Lorenzo, Mario and Maurizio decided to open a new gallery in China, in the 798 District of Beijing, in 2005. In 2007, Galleria Continua inaugurated Les Moulins, a new peculiar site for contemporary art and culture in the Parisian countryside, in Boissy-le-Châtel first and then enlarging the venue in 2010, by acquiring the ancient paper mill of Sainte-Marie close-by. In 2015, it established its fourth space in a 1950s cinema-theatre in the heart of Havana’s Chinatown in Cuba, bringing the initial project of getting people to travel, not the objects, even if artistic.
ADAC
ADAC (Association Des Amis de Chen Zhen), was created in 2003, in the mission to promote the artistic heritage and philosophy of the artist died in 2000 after 10 years of activity in the art world. The support of many people who knew Chen Zhen during his life and of those who got to know him later yet recognised themselves in his poetics was fundamental to ADAC. Over the past years ADAC pursued the diffusion of Chen Zhen’s art and philosophy. His works have been presented in majors exhibitions worldwide and documented through a number of publications. In 2018 a long and meticulous work of collecting information and testimonies let to the publication of the first “Catalogue Raisonné” of the artist, in 2 volumes, by Skira editor, in collaboration with Galleria Continua.
