Since contemporary homes have been invaded by mass media and digital connectivity, many live in a constant state of browsing endlessly updating snippets of content. Is there a need for a space to disconnect? How should this be designed? Do people need a space to retreat to, a space for each person to call their own?

Broached Commissions addresses this idea in the exhibition “Broached Retreat.” In this talk, UCCA invites Broached Commissions Creative Director Lou Weis and founding Broached designer Trent Jansen to share their perspectives and expand the conversation surrounding design.
