Alex is a depressed aspiring filmmaker who spends his days writing love letters and shoplifting. The day before he leaves for military service, Alex crashes an elegant party, where he falls in love with a suicidal young woman. Boy Meets Girl is Leos Carax’s directorial debut and a winner of the Cannes Film Festival Award of the Youth.
