Location:  UCCA Art Cinema
Language:  Chinese and English subtitles

About this Program

Asia’s diversity of ethnicities, geographic regions, histories, religions, and languages make any attempt to discuss the continent as a unified whole an impossible task. Since 2006, the Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund, founded by the Busan International Film Festival, has supported the production of over a dozen documentaries from Asia each year.

For this screening series, UCCA will team up with the Indie Screening Alliance of Art Space (ISAAS) to present five films sponsored by AND, spanning several countries across Asia. Films to be screened include 5 Broken Cameras, Passion, The Cat that Lived a Million Times, Char… The No-Man’s Island, and Kano: An American and His Harem. UCCA will also invite curators and filmmakers to participate in a forum on documentary filmmaking in Asia.

The curators of the third edition of ISAAS are Zuo Jing and Zhang Xianmin。
