UCCA presents Ma Yanhong’s latest publication, Artists’ Portraits. In her 2012 solo exhibition, “Artists’ Portraits,” Ma captured thelived experience of a group of artists, and the eponymous catalogrecords Ma’sfive-year project. In this book launch and talk, Ma is joined by writer and independent filmmaker, Liu Xi to discuss Ma’s artistic practice as well as the current situation of the art circle she both participates in and documents in her work.

Ma Yanhong, born in 1977 in Shaanxi Province, graduated from the Department of Oil Painting at Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. Her works have been collected by the Estella Collection, New York, and the Olenska Foundation, Geneva, Switzerland.

Liu Xi is an independent filmmaker, art critic, novelist, and writer.
