ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

The rapid development of India has become one of the most important topics of discussion in the new century,, and the comparison between India and China’s emergence is also a hot global topic. Often seen as rivals by the rest of the world. India’s vibrant and creative culture is slowing spreading to China. Indian Highway brings together the work of over thirty artists spanning a wide range of media and subject matter. Much of the work explores social and political issues key to the Indian situation, including environmentalism, religious sectarianism, gender, sexuality, and class. In this ”Artist-led Exhibition Tour Series”, artists Hou Wei and Stéphane Maggiacomo will lead children to experience the art works in ”Indian Highway” for inspiration. The Children will then create their own works of art on cards to built a wall of “Indian Highway”.
