ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

Beyond Words: Photography in The New Yorker is an exhibition of more than 100 works by 65 different photographers from across the globe. Although the material has been gathered from a wide range of sources—including studios, galleries, archives and private collections—and periods (from 1890 to 2010), every image was published in The New Yorker between 1992 and 2010, a formative period in the magazine’s history.

In this exhibition discovery program, artists Hou Wei and Stéphane Maggiacomo lead children through the exhibition, delving into the faces and stories of the work on show.
Every year, UCCA features many exhibitions that inspire and ignite the imagination. This is the first event in our new ‘artist-led series’, which will allow kids to engage more deeply with our exhibitions and the work of artists on show.
