Billy Paul started as a singer with Charlie Parker at Birdland at age sixteen. He played jazz with Miles Davis in the 50s and pop with Roberta Flack in the 60s before coming into his own as a master of Philadelphia Soul in the 70s. His story shows how the oppression of African-Americans formed black culture and how the civil rights movement shaped soul music.
Göran Olsson is a documentary filmmaker and the inventor of the A-Cam, a Super 16 film camera. He has traveled the world making films for television since the late 1980s. He is also the founder and editor of the documentary TV program Ikon on Sweden’s SVT. He is a co-founder of the film company Story AB, with which he makes bold films like Fuck You, Fuck You Very Much as well as commercials and music videos.
Billy Paul (born Paul Williams, 1934) is a Grammy award-winning American soul singer most known for his 1972 number-one single, "Me and Mrs. Jones," and his 1973 album War of the Gods. He is famous for his diverse vocal style, which ranges from mellow and soulful to low and raspy.
