UCCA Lab is proud to present “The World of Peter Rabbit: A Timeless Adventure” at its Beijing space from May 27 to September 27, 2023, marking the first installment of an exhibition tour through China. Beatrix Potter‘s beloved children‘s books, starting with The Tale of Peter Rabbit and the rest of “The World of Peter Rabbit“ series, have their origins in an imaginative and compassionate letter the author wrote to the convalescing son of a friend. After the publication of The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1902, Peter Rabbit quickly became a cherished character worldwide, and has gone on to endure the test of time and cement his place in the history of children’s literature. The exhibition showcases Potter’s enchanting illustrations of the countryside, the whimsical world of Peter Rabbit, and the author’s own fascinating life. Organized into five sections—“Where the Story Begins,” “A Great Adventure,” “A Fierce Battle,” “Tell Me Another Story,” and “A Beautiful Legacy”—this immersive experience transports visitors through the classic stories of the Peter Rabbit series. Join the mischievous bunny and his friends on their adventures through sandbanks, meadows, hills, forests, and farms. This exhibition is jointly curated and produced by UCCA Lab and KIDDY ART MUSEUM. Li Jie, iSTART Children’s Art Festival curator and author of Art Museum of Childhood, and Ajia, accomplished children’s book author, translator, and the first Chinese Honoree of the Carle Honors Bridge, serve as academic advisors.
