The second round of UCCA’s Junior Docents program will take place from April to August 2020. Applicants aged 6 – 16 will go through a selection process, training, and assessment before they lead guests on tours of UCCA’s acclaimed exhibitions. Junior Docents have the ability to enrich the experience of museum guests of all ages, and they make art accessible and relatable for young visitors in particular.
About UCCA Junior Docents
Junior Docents are dedicated art lovers age 6 – 16 who offer guided tours to UCCA exhibitions, sharing their passion for art with their peers and adults. Their efforts are a key part of UCCA Foundation’s education program “Opening the Door to Art,” launched on August 24, 2018, which aims to give the children the opportunity to develop a love for art, showcase their unique skills, and even get involved with the museum’s exhibitions. The Junior Docents program was launched to enthusiastic response during UCCA’s summer 2019 programming, including the run of “Picasso – Birth of a Genius.”
