Archive

UCCA’s institutional history offers a unique window onto the development of contemporary art in China, and is increasingly of interest to scholars, curators, students and other researchers. Collecting and archiving materials generated since preparations for UCCA began in 2005 is a long-term project for the museum. In the near future, these materials will be made available in a dedicated space within UCCA Beijing. By making its archive widely accessible, UCCA hopes to share insights from its history of exhibition-making and institution-building, providing scholars with resources that can further contribute to the art-historical discourse.

The UCCA exhibition archives finding aid will be available soon. For more information, please contact research@ucca.org.cn.

Library

UCCA is preparing to establish its library, outfitted with an array of physical and electronic materials drawn from, and shedding light on, UCCA’s institutional history, China’s recent art history, and global contemporary culture more generally. The library, scheduled to open at UCCA Beijing in 2024, will not only provide academic support for UCCA’s research and curatorial teams, but offer resources for scholars, students, and the wider public. Stay tuned for further information.
