UCCA One Year Anniversary
To celebrate UCCA's one year anniversary, Zhou Tiehai, the Shanghai-based artist who is currently working on an extensive art project based on bakery, has been specially commissioned by UCCA Super Ganbei to produce a birthday cake. Based on the Belgian ginger bread recipe, Zhou Tiehai has been painting a 150 cm by 200 cm ginger bread doll. All who have seen the paintings so far acclaim it is a very unusual piece from the artist, well known for his airbrush paintings featuring famous classical paintings in which characters are represented with a camel head. On the anniversary a cake replica of the painting was baked by Super Ganbei. |
