The Guy & Myriam Ullens Foundation provides continuous support to the development of contemporary Chinese art in a number of ways that extend beyond UCCA. This includes the ongoing acquisition of some of the most inspiring works of contemporary art made today, which span a variety of media and have been produced by artists based in China and abroad. A selection of these recently acquired works are now on view throughout the building.

Building a Home for Artists: UCCA launches a new series of Super Fengshui to leading and emerging Chinese artists

Curated by Jérôme Sans, UCCA Director
Selections from Guy and Myriam Ullens Foudation Collection artworks will be regularly on view at UCCA from June 2008 onwards

Pursuing the long-term commitment of Guy and Myriam Ullens to support Chinese artists through the Guy & Myriam Ullens Foundation collection, UCCA is dedicating its entire 8,000 square meters of space to leading and emerging Chinese artists.

In conjunction with Our Future: The Guy & Myriam Ullens Foundation Collection, UCCA has especially commissioned installations, murals, paintings and sculptures by major and emerging artists such as Ai Wei Wei, Yan Lei, Wang Du, Sui Jianguo, Wen Fang and Michael Lin.

Throughout the interior and exterior of the building, UCCA will pay tribute to the work these artists have accomplished over the past two decades in bringing Chinese contemporary art onto the international art scene by devoting its entire space to sustain their artistic creations.

"From this point onwards, UCCA will be like a home—a living art space—inhabited by works curated specifically for the space and on display over a longer term, greatly extending the traditional short term presence of the exhibition period", said Jérôme Sans about the project.
